CIBA camping rides are intended for the slightly more independent cyclist. Each rider is expected to carry his own camping gear. There are no sags, and no Dan Henrys. Each cyclist is provided with a map, and the ride leader takes care of campground reservations, which the club pays for.
Most of the camping rides are two day events. On Saturday we head to the campground, usually at a state park, then make the return trip on Sunday, generally by another route. Along the way we eat our meals at various restaurants & grocery stores along the route.
These rides are the most enjoyable & sociable which CIBA has to offer. If you would like to try a camping ride, but don't have panniers to carry your camping gear, contact Mike Crouch (317-889-0027) and he'll see if he can find some for you to borrow. He'll will also be glad to answer any questions you have about CIBA camping rides.
